Communicating with foreign visitors at Iguazu Falls

At Iguazu Falls almost all guidance is operational: where to board, how long it takes, what to do in the rain. It has to land the first time.

Conversations that happen in the park

Tickets and opening times, the internal shuttle and its stops, trail duration, accessibility, lockers, optional boat tours and regrouping.

Why it's hard

Visitors arrive in groups, short on time, speaking several languages at once. One bilingual attendant per shift cannot cover the demand.

Where TouristTalk fits

The service point — ticket desk, tour operator or guide — displays a QR code. The visitor scans it, speaks their own language and hears the reply translated; each visitor has their own conversation.

Benefit

Fewer people lost along the route, less repeating the same explanation, and a clearer record of which channel served whom.

Available languages: pt-BR, en, es

Frequently asked questions

How do I ask about the trail if I don't speak Portuguese?
Scan the service point's QR code, pick your language and ask; the attendant answers in Portuguese and you get it translated.
Does it work with weak signal?
Online translation needs a connection. Where signal is poor, use the QR code around the ticket and reception areas.
